Carnac – Project Delivery Services Pty Ltd (Carnac) provided engineering services to investigate observed vibrations across evaporation and crystallisation systems. Carnac’s assessment included the following:
A baseline vibration survey of the surrounding area before commencing the project;
A review of equipment data sheets, other design documentation and plant historian database data;
Assessments of the existing operational ranges of oxalate and sulphate circulation pumps;
Developed a hydraulic model from which a base model would be calibrated;
Produced detailed hydraulic calculations for each system; and
Provided recommendations to minimise cavitation in systems.
