Synthetic rutile is found as a mineral sand along Southwest Western Australia's coastline as is used as a raw material for the production of titanium dioxide or TiO2. Carnac has provided mechanical and structural engineering support as well as environmental assessments for a number of synthetic rutile storage sites around the Perth basin.
