Carnac – Project Delivery Services Pty Ltd (Carnac) were engaged to assess the capacity of the lump product bin discharge, vibrating feeders and feed transfer to conveyor, and develop options for de-bottlenecking the system. This investigation included an assessment of upgrades and modifications to date, options assessment for de-bottlenecking and Discrete Element Method (DEM) modelling to better understand current system performance and assess the impact on performance of any modifications.

Carnac recommended trialling lower friction liners to assess the performance over the wear-life of liners. Carnac also recommended the installation of a hood at the discharge end of the vibrating feeders for spillage control and to improve belt loading.
