Carnac – Project Delivery Services Pty Ltd (Carnac) provided engineering services to investigate the failures of the motor and couplings. Carnac’s assessment included the following:
Producing a DEM model of the reversing load case;
Calculation of the reversing load case’s resistances;
A comprehensive review of the drive components; and
Recommendations to improve the short-term and long-term operational cost and maintainability.
