The client required a new Dangerous Goods (DG) Bottle Gas Storage Facility due to concerns of their existing facility failing to comply with safety regulations.

Carnac-Project Delivery Services (Carnac) managed, designed and constructed a new gas bottle storage facility and modified the existing facility. Carnac produced the facility from concept to handover.

The gas facility requirements were:

  1. Stocks of bottled gas must be easily rotatable;
  2. Ensure full compliance with the standards and regulations;
  3. Improve manual handling of product to ensure safety risks are minimised; and
  4. Plan for full and empty bottle storage to comply with the Australian Standards and improved the delivery processes.

Carnac delivered a detailed design of the project, consulting the client throughout the process.

The construction phase included the:

  1. Procurement of all mechanical, electrical and structural elements required for the construction;
  2. Civil site works, concrete and asphalt installations;
  3. Structural steel fabrication and erection;
  4. Electrical installation; and
  5. Structural, Mechanical and E&I completion check list.

Carnac delivered a high quality Gas Storage Facility, remaining within a fixed price cost. A Manufacturers Data Report (MDR) was also prepared by Carnac and handed over to the client.
