Salt Crystals and Aluminium Pellet Addition

Project Value | $2m

Solution Provided | Definitive Feasibility Study

This work was born out of the client's need to reduce current risks associated with a hazardous section of their process plant. Within the reactor process, the salt crystals and aluminium pellets used are lifted from the ground to the feed hoppers at the top of the building. This is time consuming and can be associated with a number of safety issues. To address these concerns, a bucket elevator was to be designed and commissioned to transfer the material across the existing feed hoppers into the building. Carnac provided reviews of

  • Potential use of a screw conveyor for the salt and aluminium application;

  • Other material lifting equipment; and

  • Other process equipment identified in the FEL3 studies performed by a previous contractor.
