Slurry Transfer Improvements

Project Value | $100k

Solution Provided | Implementation

The client was unable to transfer slurry from the treatment tanks due to restrictions in their 2" pipeline setup, and their manual diversion valves meant that that the transfer of slurry to and from the four storage tanks was time consuming. The client was looking to operate at higher slurry transfer rates while reducing manning levels, which meant that debottlenecking and automation was required. Carnac was commissioned to assess the proposed system to ensure that

  • The new pump could handle required flows and NPSH;

  • The installed power was sufficient for the upgrade; and

  • The proposed piping was appropriate.

We worked off of a feasibility study already prepared for the client, and were engaged to complete detailed design of relevant required works.
